The Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII-Infrastructure and Utilities Development Committee (IUDC) conducted a Special Meeting last 20 April 2016 at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) VIII Multi-Purpose Hall, Government Center, Palo, Leyte.

Among the resolutions passed during the meeting were the endorsement to the RDC VIII of the FY 2017 Tier 2 Budget Proposal of the DPWH VIII and DILG VIII. Furthermore, the Committee also passed twelve (12) RDC VIII-IUDC resolutions concerning the infrastructure and utilities needs of the Tacloban City North Resettlement Areas, such as the water and power supply, wastewater management, drainage, transportation and social services infrastructure.

In that meeting, NEDA VIII also presented the Ambisyon Natin 2040, which is envisioned to be a basis of unity among Filipinos, where the people generally want the Philippines to be by 2040, and serve as a guide in development planning across four (4) administrations. The RDC VIII-IUDC officers and members were encouraged to advocate the same to all their stakeholders.

The meeting was presided over by the RDC VIII-IUDC Chair and DPWH VIII Regional Director Rolando M. Asis, and attended by around seventy (70) representatives from the different district engineering offices of DPWH VIII, regional line agencies, local government units, and the private sector.
