Current and former Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII Chairpersons joined together for a special edition of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) VIII’s Panindugan show on 24 September 2021, part of the RDC Week 2021 Celebration.

Current RDC VIII Chairperson Gov. Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla, and former Chairpersons, then Mayor of Calbayog City and DILG Secretary, Mel Senen S. Sarmiento and then Governor of Southern Leyte, Rosette Y. Lerias, shared their experiences in leading the RDC VIII. 

Each Chairperson touched upon the challenges they faced, their approaches to development, and the development and resiliency initiatives they implemented during their time atop the Council.

The show was hosted by the PIA VIII, whose Panindugan show is a regular program airing every Friday.

Earlier, the RDC VIII also conducted a webinar on media literacy for members and stakeholders on 23 September. Both activities are part of the Council’s RDC Week 2021 activities revolving around the theme, “Building Resilience Towards a Better Eastern Visayas Under the New Normal.”

This year’s activities were done online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
