Over a thousand faculty and students of the Leyte Normal University (LNU) gathered at the Human Resources and Development Center (HRDC) Gymnasium on 6 December 2017 to support AmBisyon Natin 2040, the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, and the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022.
LNU President Jude Duarte conveyed his hopes that the visions in AmBisyon Natin 2040, with the help of the PDP and RDP, will be realized. He also emphasized that LNU will play a big role in achieving the vision.
The AmBisyon Natin 2040 represents the Filipinos’s long-term vision of a Matatag, Maginhawa and Panatag na Buhay Para sa Lahat (strongly-rooted, comfortable and secure life for all) for themselves and for the country in the next 25 years. The PDP and RDP are geared towards this vision.
LNU is a fifth of a series of caravan on AmBisyon Natin 2040, PDP 2017-2022, and Eastern Visayas RDP 2017-2022 being conducted by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) VIII in the state universities and colleges (SUCs) of the region. A similar event was conducted in Eastern Visayas State University on
1 December 2017, University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College on 15 September 2017, and University of the Eastern Philippines on 25 November 2016.
