The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) VIII recently concluded the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa (BP2) Action Plan Workshop on 16 December 2020 on Zoom.
Attended by regional line agencies (RLAs), local government units (LGUs), and private sector representatives (PSRs) of the Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII, the workshop was conducted to review and enhance the Eastern Visayas BP2 Action Plan.
Participants were encouraged to provide comments and inputs on the Plan, validate the assessments in the document, identify and supplement strategies and interventions, and check the agency-provided programs and projects for their responsiveness to the strategies outlined in the Plan.
The workshop comes as the Action Plan is being finalized for presentation to the Regional Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa Committee created by the RDC VIII. The Plan will serve as the region’s guide in the implementation of BP2, now that the national government has formally institutionalized it through Executive Order No. 114, s. 2020 entitled, “Institutionalizing the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program as a Pillar of Balanced Regional Development, Creating a Council Therefor, and for Other Purposes.”
