The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office VIII was hailed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as one of its Outstanding Partners for 2016 in this year’s Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders at the Multi-Purpose Hall, BSP Tacloban Branch, Tacloban City on September 13, 2016.

The NEDA VIII was chosen as the region’s Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments of the Philippines under the Information Sources Category. The award was given to institutions and organizations that provide relevant and adequate information to the BSP that may help in setting its projections and in crafting its policies.

Receiving the award on behalf of NEDA VIII Regional Director Atty. Bonifacio G. Uy was Chief Economic Development Specialist Meylene C. Rosales of the NEDA VIII Policy Formulation and Planning Division. The awards ceremony was graced by the Monetary Board Member Valentin A. Araneta.

Five other awardees in Eastern Visayas include the Samar Coco Products Manufacturing Corporation as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Leyte Agri Corporation as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms, both for the Business Expectations Survey; the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office VIII as the Outstanding Partner for Financial Learning Campaign; the Land Bank of the Philippines as the Outstanding Regional Partner for Clean Note Policy; and the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VIII as the Outstanding Regional Partner for the Demonetization of the New Design Series.

With the theme “Sustained Partnership, Sustained Economic Growth,” the 2016 awards ceremony in Region VIII was the third time being conducted in the region, which seeks to honor stakeholders for their sustained and exceptional support to the information needs of the BSP.
