Tacloban City – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) VIII was once again recognized as one of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Outstanding Partners in Eastern Visayas during the 2018 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders held on 28 August 2018 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, BSP Tacloban Branch, Tacloban City.

For the 3rd consecutive year, NEDA VIII was hailed as the BSP’s Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments in the Philippines. The award was given to the agency or institution that has provided exceptional information support to the BSP, which aids them in crafting monetary and fiscal policies.

In addition, NEDA VIII also garnered the Gold Hall of Fame award, an accolade given to the outstanding partner who won in the same award category for three consecutive years.

NEDA VIII Regional Director Atty. Bonifacio G. Uy was present to receive the awards, which were handed over by Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuñiga, Jr. and Assistant Governor Francisco G. Dakila, Jr. These recognitions are a testament to the agency’s sustained effort to provide timely and relevant socioeconomic updates for the region that are vital to decision-making, development planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

Other awardees were TBK Manufacturing as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms; Viguz Construction Corporation as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES); Security Bank Corporation-Tacloban-Veteranos Branch as the Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs of the BSP for Clean Note Policy; Department of Social Welfare and Development – Regional Office Vlll as the Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs of the BSP for Demonetization of the New Design Series; and CARD MRI Development Institute, Inc. as the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaign.

This annual event, now on its 15th year, is held to recognize the sustained and outstanding contributions of BSP’s stakeholders in support of its statistical undertakings, information needs, advocacy programs, and functions.
