
Fifteen Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) were elected for the 2019-2022 term of office during the Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII – PSRs election held on 4 September 2019 at the NEDA Regional Office VIII, Palo, Leyte.
Elected to represent the private sector in the Council are: Atty. Roy Bernard C. Fiel for the Agriculture and Fisheries sector; Francisco P. Barredo for the Finance sector; Jazmin A. Jerusalem for the Poor sector; Mario Ian S. Mosquisa for the Environment sector; Rev. Fr. Fred I. Placa for the Culture, Arts, and Faith sector; Dr. Edmundo F. Gariando for the Academe and Science and Technology sector; Reynaldo A. Franco for the Tourism sector; Lolito T. Aures for the MSMEs-Services sector; Anita M. Ogrimen for the Women sector; Eugene A. Tan for the Business/Agribusiness/Manufacturing and Processing sector; Angelito O. CaƱete for the Infrastructure and Utilities sector; Luisita J. Quebec for the Mass Media sector; Oscar B. Garol for the Youth and Children sector; Arturo O. Gabrieles for the Persons with Special Concerns sector; and Atty. Miguel T. Tezon for the Labor sector./p>
They will be officially confirmed during the 3rd Quarter RDC VIII Full Council meeting on 26 September 2019.
As members of the Council, the newly elected PSRs are expected to participate in the meetings of the RDC Full Council, in addition to the sectoral and affiliate committees, and to push for the interests of their respective sectors during these meetings.
The PSRs-elect will serve in the Council for a three-year term that coincides with the terms of local elective officials in accordance with Section 14 of Executive Order No. 325, s. 1996.
