
NEDA Regional Office (NRO) 8 organized an ISO 9001: 2015 Executive Briefing for its employees on May 17, 2019 at the NEDA Regional Office VIII, Palo, Leyte in compliance with Executive Order No. 605, entitled “Institutionalizing the Structure, Mechanisms and Standards to Implement Government Quality Management Program, Amending for the Purpose Administrative Order No. 161, s. 2006.”
EO 325 directs all departments and agencies of the executive branch to adopt the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems as part of the implementation of a government-wide quality management program.
In her opening message, OIC-Regional Director Meylene C. Rosales explained that the process of certification will help the Office streamline its processes and ensure delivery of quality services to its stakeholders and clients.
The briefing was conducted by Mr. Paul Bagatsing of AJA Registrars Philippines. He clarified the confusing aspects of the standard. He also laid out the entire certification process for the staff to fully comprehend the scope of the project that they are hoping to undertake.
OIC ARD Evangeline M. Paran closed the program by thanking the resource speaker for helping the staff become aware of and appreciate the requirements for ISO certification and for providing the office a starting point in its journey towards certification. She emphasized that this is an office-wide endeavour and reminded the staff of NRO VIII of their respective roles in achieving ISO certification.
