The Regional Development Council-Private Sector Representatives (RDC-PSR) of Central Visayas will host the Annual RDC-PSR National Convention (NatCon) in 2017, SOCSARGEN Region in 2018, Luzon area in 2019 and Eastern Visayas in 2020.

This decision was made during the meeting of the PSR heads of delegation of the different regions and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Directors or their representatives at the 7th RDC-PSRs NatCon held on 26-29 April 2016 at the Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City.

The annual RDC-PSRs convention is a gathering of the different PSRs across the country. The participation of PSRs in government’s efforts to attain the desired development is vital in complementing the gaps that will help ensure effective and efficient delivery of social and economic services in pursuit of inclusive growth.

This year’s convention was anchored on the theme “Moving Forward to Sustained and Equitable Growth”. It is highlighted with the topics on the initiatives of RDC-PSRs in governance and development.

The RDC-Eastern Visayas Region was represented by: Francisco P. Barredo, PSR for Banking; Lolito T. Aures, PSR for MSMEs; Leo Christian V. Lauzon, PSR for Women/Youth/PWDs; Mario Ian N. Mosquisa, PSR for Environment; Edmundo F. Gariando, PSR for Academe; and, Jazmin A. Jerusalem, PSR for Rural/Farmers/Agri Workers/Fisherfolks.

PSR Barredo, the head of delegation, expressed that hosting the convention in 2020 in Eastern Visayas will showcase the recovery and rehabilitation efforts of the government, non-government organizations and the different private sectors in response to the damages caused by Supertyphoon Yolanda which struck the country, with Region VIII the hardest, on 8 November 2013.
