Further to the ongoing reorganization of the Council, a face-to-face orientation on the RDC VIII was conducted on 23 September 2022 at the Felipina Hall, NEDA Regional Office VIII, Palo, Leyte.

The orientation was conducted following the confirmation of the 15 Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) and the nomination of the RDC VIII Chairperson and Co-Chairperson for the 2022-2025 term of office.

In her opening message, the RDC VIII Vice-Chairperson and NEDA VIII Regional Director, Meylene C. Rosales, emphasized that the Council is Eastern Visayas’ highest policy-making body which leads the region in the attainment of its goals and targets.

The orientation covered the legal bases, functions, organizational structure, and the rules and procedures of the Council. It primarily served to inform new member-local chief executives, PSRs, and agency heads of the Council’s roles and functions in regional development.
