The Western Leyte College (WLC) of Ormoc City won the inaugural #MutabangKo! Challenge during the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan (EV RDP) 2023-2028 University Roadshow on 25 September 2023 in ACLC College of Ormoc, Ormoc City.

WLC bested three other teams, answering questions and winning challenges along three categories: socioeconomic development, the EV RDP 2023-2028, and Eastern Visayas Facts and Figures.

Hosted by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office VIII, the #MutabangKo! Challenge was designed to introduce the EV RDP 2023-2028 and engage students in regional development. It emphasizes the regional call-to-action of Mutabang Ko in Bisaya or Mabulig Ako in Waray (I will help in English), which underscores the individual’s role in fulfilling the regional vision.

The Challenge is a major part of the EV RDP 2023-2028 Roadshow. The Ormoc City Roadshow, done during the RDC Week Celebration, is the first in a series of planned roadshows around the region. NEDA will visit schools, local government units, and communities in the coming months to introduce the Plan to the public and gather concrete commitments to regional development.
